There are new teams atop the coaches softball poll in three of the five classes for the week of Sept. 3.

Harrison, No. 2 last week, unseats Brookwood as the top team in Class AAAAA. The Broncos drop to No. 3 as Mill Creek moves up from fourth to second. Gwinnett County teams continue to dominate the state’s largest class with four teams among the top five and five among the top eight.

In Class AAAA, Union Grove moves up from second to take over at No. 1, followed by Greenbrier, which was third last week. The biggest move comes courtesy of Northgate, which moves up from No. 10 to No. 3 thanks to a 9-1 start. Jones County, ranked No. 1 last week, drops to fourth.

Berrien also is new to the No. 1 spot this week, moving up from second and swapping places with previous No. 1 Greater Atlanta Christian.

Walnut Grove remains undefeated at 18-0 and keeps the No. 1 ranking in Class AAA while Gordon Lee extends it winning streak to 49 games and remains No. 1 in Class A.
