Softball: Mount Pisgah lands 4 on all-region team
The Mount Pisgah Christian School softball team placed four players on the All-Region 5-A team this week. Leading the way were first team selections Madison Claytor, Morgan Walters and Courtney Condon. Nicole Peters was an Honorable Mention selection.
Walters, a freshman infielder, led the team with a .444 batting average. Playing in all 33 games for the Lady Patriots Walters hit six doubles, five triples and five home runs. She led the team with 41 RBIs, scored 36 runs and hit .511 with runners in scoring position.
Claytor, a sophomore catcher, hit .424 in 33 games. She led Pisgah with 13 doubles and was second on the team with 33 RBIs. She finished the season with a 26 runs scored and a .620 slugging percentage.
Condon, a freshman, was named to the All-Region squad as a pitcher. She finished the season 14-8 with a 3.35 ERA. Pitching in 24 games for 123 innings, Condon threw two shutouts, tallied 86 strikeouts and allowed an opponents batting average of .210.
Peters, a sophomore shortstop, hit .337 in 33 games for the Patriots. She led the team with 34 runs scored.
For the season, Pisgah finished 22-11 and advanced to the second round of the state playoffs. The Lady Patriots finished 8-0 in the regular season in the region, outscoring their opponents 103-7.
