Basketball: Top spots unchanged in new girls polls
All five No. 1 teams kept their top ranking in the PrepCountry.com/GACA Coaches Girls Basketball polls for Week 8.
In Class AAAAA, defending champion Redan (10-0) is No. 1 and has won 37 games in a row. North Cobb (11-1) makes the biggest jump in the class, from ninth to fourth.
Undefeated Fayette County stays No. 1 in Class AAAA while Rome (12-0) moves from fourth to seconds. Defending state champion Southwest DeKalb holds on to the No. 3 spot.
In Class AAA, Kendrick (11-0) remains in the top spot while Washington County makes the biggest leap, from seventh to No. 2.
Northeast Macon (12-0) stays on top in Class AA Dodge County moves up from No. 6 to No. 2.
The top five teams in Class A stay the same, with defensing champion Wesleyan keeping the No. 1 spot.
